AGOGO TO GET AN ASTRO TURF

 

Agogo is one of the communities which has brought out very good and talented footballers like Frank Osei and Evans Adomako of Kumasi Asante Kotoko fame. 



On Sunday, Ghana Gas Company Limited in collaboration of Wembley Sports complex cut sod for the construction of an ultramodern Astro turf at APCE park ( Sakora Park).  



In attendance of the program was Omanhene of Agogo traditional area, Nana Kwame Akuako Sarpong, Nana Serwaa Kusi Oboadum,  Agogo Hemaa, Ernest Owusu Bempah and Sarfo Gyamfi of Kotoko fame.  


Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Robert Coleman of Wembley Sports complex said the project is expected to be complete within 6 months.  


He said the turf will serve the needs of the entire Asante Akyem community and help to unearth a lot of talents to help in the development of football. 



The turf, he noted would also be used to host national league games when completed. 



The facility will have in place a spectator stands, floodlights, washroom, dressing room and others

AGOGO PRESBYTERIAN WOMEN'S COLLEGE OF EDUCATION ORGANISE "SEND OFF" CEREMONY FOR THEIR FORMER PRINCIPAL

 Agogo Presbyterian women's college of education - APWCE, has organised a send off ceremony for its past Principal Rev. Dr. Mrs Esther Adgodeka.  The ceremony was organised at the college Auditorium on Saturday and was attended by Prof. Kwasi Adarkwa, the council Chairman and former vice chancellor of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Mrs Caroline Aduamoah, a council member,  the current principal,  Rev Dr Mrs Grace Sintim Adasi, Mrs Rita Asanu, acting vice Principal,  a host of teaching and non teaching staffs and students. ADESUA FOUNDATION GHANA AND GHANA-USA TRADITIONAL AND CULTURAL COUNCIL COMMENCE CONSTRUCTION OF SCHOOL BLOCK IN NYAMEBEKYERE

 Adesua Foundation Ghana led by Nana Frimpong Manso Adakabre and the Ghana -  USA  Traditional and Council  Diaspora led by Nana Amoako Yiadom Gyata Fihankrahene of Agogo Traditional area and his wife  Nana Abena Konadu Yiadom Gyata  has started the construction of a school in Nyamebekyere a suburb of Agogo Asante Akim North.   The ceremony was attend by Nana Anim Marfo the Anantahene and other sub Chiefs in the area.  There is no school in Nyamebekyere and students have to trek to the nearest town Brahabebome, a distance of about 10km before they could access basic education.  The items includes heaps of sand, blocks and bags of cement.
