Global Partnership for Education have received $4billion in pledges to support Global Education

 The 2021 Global Education Summit was co-hosted by the Prime minister of United Kingdom  Boris  Johnson and the  President Uhuru Kenyatta of Kenya on July 28 and 29 in London and Online.  The Summit underlined education key role in accelerating the fight against poverty, prevent climate change and improve health outcomes,  and highlighted the importance of putting education at the top of  international agenda as the world seeks to respond to and recover from the impacts of COVID-19 pandermic. The Summit secured a record commitments of international, domestic,  and private funding for education, providing a huge boost to children learning in the world's lowest income countries.  The theme for this year Summit was: Education's Reset: Learning from covid-19; Gender Equality in and through Education; The ripple effect: Education's impact on sustainability; and Financing for Impact: Volume, Equity and Efficiency.. Ministry of Communication Inaugurates an ICT Library

On Monday 27th June 2021,Hon Ursula Owusu in the company with her deputy Hon Ama Pomaa officially inaugurated Janet Brako Community Library & ICT Center in Akim-Bieni, Achiase District of the Eastern Region. Information and Communications Technology (ICT) is vital to keep everybody safely connected in today’s world. The Janet Brako Community library and ICT Centre is equipped with computers and internet service. Education Financing and Spending Efficiency.

 *Education Financing, Spending Efficiency and Ghana’s commitment to SDG 4 ahead of the Global Education Summit - July 26-28, London.* 1. His Excellency President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Minister of Education Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum have been invited by Prime Minister Boris Johnson and HE Kenyatta, co-hosts of next week’s Global Education Summit taking place in London, to join the world in committing to increasing domestic financing of education; improving spending efficiency; and enrolling all out of school children even as the world navigates through COVID-19 with austerity .  2. Africa hosts  about 70% of the world’s Out of School Children. With up to 20% of pupils dropping out before JHS 3, Ghana has about 400,000 out of school children.    3. Global education financing benchmarks require that 5% of GDP and a minimum 20% of National Budgets are committed to Education.  4. In 2020, Ghana allocated about GHC 13.6 billion representing 16% of total national budget to education. Th
