Ministry of Communication Inaugurates an ICT Library


On Monday 27th June 2021,Hon Ursula Owusu in the company with her deputy Hon Ama Pomaa officially inaugurated Janet Brako Community Library & ICT Center in Akim-Bieni, Achiase District of the Eastern Region.


Information and Communications Technology (ICT) is vital to keep everybody safely connected in today’s world. The Janet Brako Community library and ICT Centre is equipped with computers and internet service. It will support the educational needs of pupils and students within the community and its environs.  



Present at the commissioning were officials from the Ministry of Communications, Officials from GIFEC, traditional rulers, opinion leaders, the MP for Achiase constituency(Hon. Kofi Ahenkorah Marfo), Founder, Education for Development Foundation (Dr Albert Antwi Boasiako), DCE for Achiase district (Hon. Richmond Agyabeng Amponsah), the Executive Director, Ghana Library Authority (Mr Hayford Siaw), Deputy Minister for Education (Hon. Rev John Ntim Fordjour, eastern Regional Minister (Hon. Seth Acheampong), MP for Ningo Prampram (Hon Sam George)and many other distinguished personalities.

AGOGO PRESBYTERIAN WOMEN'S COLLEGE OF EDUCATION ORGANISE IT'S 13TH CONGRESSION CEREMONY

 Agogo Presbyterian women's college of education has organised its 13th congregation ceremony on Saturday 22nd May, 2021 at the college auditorium.  The ceremony saw the attendance of dignitaries including Prof. Adarkwa,  the Council chairman, Dr. Eric Nkansah, representative of the minister of education, Prof. Nana Aba Appiah Amfo ( Pro vice-chancellor, university of Ghana) who was the keynote speaker,  the college Principal Rev. Dr. Grace Sintim Adasi, the municipal director of education,  representative of Agogo Omanhene, Nana Frimpong Manso Adakabre who is the Adesuahene of the area and Nana Afrakomah Serwaa Kusi Obodum, Agogomanhemaa. The college presented 317 students for graduation with 16 students obtaining first class, 71 second class (upper division), 112 second class (lower division), 85 third class and 33 pass. Championing the growth of SMEs through Digitisation

The Omanhene of the Domeabra Traditional Area, Nana Baffour Owusu Bediako has asked government to work hard to improve Internet connectivity nationwide, especially in the rural areas in order to achieve it’s digitalization agenda. He described reliable internet connectivity as a critical development tool to aid in the quest for digitalization. “It is important for the people, especially those in the rural areas to access reliable internet and at affordable rates.” Nana Bediako who represented the President of the Ashanti Regional House of Chiefs, Otumfour Osei Tutu II, said at the second Graphic Business/ Access Bank SME clinic held in Kumasi yesterday.
