Parliament has today November 30, 2021, approved the 2022 Budget Statement and Economic Policy of government presented by Minister for Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta on the 17th of November this year.  This comes following earlier confusion on whether or not the budget had been rejected at Friday’s Parliamentary sitting. The Majority side accused the Speaker of the House, Alban Bagbin for acting in breach of the 1992 constitution after the speaker claimed that 137 members of parliament had taken a decision to reject the budget, an act that fails the constitutional requirement of 138 MPs present in the house before a decision can be made. Today’s sitting was delayed by hours of meetings between the majority and minority leadership aimed at exploring how to cure the unconstitutionality committed by speaker Bagbin and the 137 MPs.  Adesua Foundation Ghana led by Nana Frimpong Manso Adakabre and the Ghana -  USA  Traditional and Council  Diaspora led by Nana Amoako Yiadom Gyata Fihankrahene of Agogo Traditional area and his wife  Nana Abena Konadu Yiadom Gyata  has started the construction of a school in Nyamebekyere a suburb of Agogo Asante Akim North.   The ceremony was attend by Nana Anim Marfo the Anantahene and other sub Chiefs in the area.  There is no school in Nyamebekyere and students have to trek to the nearest town Brahabebome, a distance of about 10km before they could access basic education.  The items includes heaps of sand, blocks and bags of cement. The Omanhene of the Domeabra Traditional Area, Nana Baffour Owusu Bediako has asked government to work hard to improve Internet connectivity nationwide, especially in the rural areas in order to achieve it’s digitalization agenda.
